Have a question about an article, found something that needs correcting, or have a state specific topic you would like us to cover? We would like to hear from you.
Rental Awareness is built around researching and explaining laws and regulations that can differ from one state to another.
That kind of work is never finished. Statutes get amended, agencies revise their guidance, and a rule that was accurate last year may read differently today.
Reader feedback is one of the most useful tools we have for keeping the site accurate, especially when it helps us find outdated information, unclear explanations, or topics we have not covered yet.
General Questions
For general questions, feedback, corrections, or content suggestions, email us at:
We try to review messages regularly and respond when a response is needed. If your message is a correction or a topic request, you may not receive a personal reply, but it will still be read and considered.
When you write to us, it helps to be specific. A message that says “your article about trailer registration is wrong” gives us very little to work with.
A message that says “the Ohio trailer registration article says the weight threshold is 3,000 pounds, but the BMV page says otherwise” gives us something we can actually verify.
Found an Error?
Laws change, and information can become outdated. We would much rather hear about a mistake than leave it published.
Our Editorial Policy explains how we research and update articles, and our Disclaimer explains the limits of what we publish.
If you believe an article contains incorrect or outdated information, please include:
- The URL of the article
- The state involved
- The specific statement you believe is incorrect
- A link to an official source, if you have one
- Any additional information that may help us investigate the issue
Providing a source makes it much easier for us to review the issue. Official sources are the most helpful, including state statutes, administrative codes, agency websites, published rules, and government publications.
If you do not have a source, send the correction anyway. We will research it ourselves. Having a starting point is still better than not knowing about the problem at all.
If we confirm an error, we will correct the article. Depending on the significance of the change, we may also note that the article has been updated.
Suggest a Topic
Is there a state law you have been trying to understand and cannot find a clear answer about? Send us the topic and the state you are interested in.
You can browse what we have already covered on our blog before sending a request. We are particularly interested in questions where the answer differs between states, such as vehicle regulations, UTV and ATV laws, private road laws, property rules, recreational regulations, licensing questions, and similar topics.
These are the areas where general nationwide advice tends to be least useful, and where readers most often end up confused by content that does not identify which state it is describing.
Topic requests do not guarantee coverage. We prioritize based on how many readers are likely asking the same question, how well the topic fits the site, and whether we can research it responsibly using available sources.
Legal Questions
Please understand that contacting Rental Awareness does not create an attorney client relationship.
We cannot provide individualized legal advice, interpret the law for your particular case, represent you, review your documents, or tell you what legal action you should take. This is true regardless of how a message is worded or how detailed the situation is.
If you have a situation that requires legal advice, please speak with a qualified attorney licensed in your state, or contact the appropriate government agency. Many states also have bar association referral services and legal aid organizations that can help people find assistance.
Copyright and DMCA Requests
For copyright related notices, please see our DMCA and Copyright Policy, which explains what a notice should include and where to send it.
A Note on Sensitive Information
Please do not send confidential personal information, financial information, account passwords, government identification numbers, or sensitive legal documents through our general contact email.
Email is not a secure channel, and messages sent to us are not protected by any professional privilege. Our Privacy Policy explains how information you send us may be handled.
One Last Thing
We are a small website, so we may not be able to respond to every message personally. But we do read the feedback, and useful corrections and topic suggestions genuinely help improve the site.
